Patrick Swayze, 57, an actor who enjoyed success in Hollywood as the snake-hipped charmer of "Dirty
Dancing" and a romantic lead from beyond the grave in "Ghost," died Sept. 14, his publicist reported
from Los Angeles. He had been battling pancreatic cancer for 2 years.
Swayze first found fame in the early 1980s in the adaptation of the novel "The Outsiders". A trained
dancer, Swayze became a cinema heartthrob and Golden Globe award nominee with 1987's Dirty Dancing
and reached the height of his fame three years later in the romantic film "Ghost".
Rob Lowe, who starred in a number of films with Swayze, said: "Patrick lived a thousand lifetimes in
one lifetime. He was an expert dancer, he wrote hit songs, he starred in hit movies, he was an
amazing horseman.
"But the thing I will remember him most for was his amazing love affair with his wife Lisa."
Demi Moore has also paid tribute to her co-star in the hit film Ghost, saying: "Patrick you are
loved by so many and your light will forever shine in all of our lives."
She added: "I love and will miss you Patrick."
He loved his Animals and supported many animal charities. Perhaps we may follow in his kindness and
continue to help animals in his honour! We will surely miss this rich hearted man. May his wife find
peace and future happiness. R.I.P

i was so sad to hear that you lost your fight against cancer...you were so brave and put up the bravest fight. i have grown up admiring you films...dirty dancing was every girls dream...the times my friends and i hurt ourselves trying to recreate the final dance. you are a legend and will be truely truely missed...rest in peace angel.xxx

Patrik Swayze has long been my favourite actor. He was completely open and honest with sharing his emotions. It seemed to me that he wore his heart on his sleeve and had no hidden agendas. I think that's why he was my favourite.
